Moab is an amazing destination for people that love outdoor adventure. There are amazing adventures around every corner and every type of outdoor adventure you can imagine. Mountain biking, hiking, river rafting, jeeping, ATV riding, rock climbing, canyoneering, dinosaur museums and fossils, petroglyphs, and beautiful national parks are just some of the outdoor adventures that Moab is famous for. Here is a little more information on some of our favorite outdoor adventures around Moab.

Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are just outside of Moab. Arches is north of Moab a few miles and is one of the most amazing national parks in the world for rock formations and arches. There are endless rock formations and arches to see and experience. Canyonlands National Park is just southwest of Moab and is a huge area with massive red rock canyons and rock formations. There are also many petroglyphs, archaeological sites, and many great hidden treasures to explore.

The Colorado River flows past Moab on the north side of town. This famous western river has massive red rock canyon walls and world-famous white-water rafting. The section of the Colorado River by Moab is great for paddleboarding, rafting, tubing, and playing in the water. Those adventure seekers that want a more intense adventure can set up a white-water rafting trip with Western Rivers and raft Cataract Canyon just south of Moab. Cataract Canyon has some great white water rafting and is a magnificent red rock canyon.

The mountain biking around Moab is world-famous and there are mountain biking trails that wind all around Moab. The board of tourism and the mountain biking shops in town have great maps of the trails. Mountain bikers of all skill levels will find trails that will both challenge them and inspire them with breathtaking views of the beautiful landscapes.

ATV riding and jeeping are also very popular in Moab. There are jeep and ATV trails though out the area and endless canyons to drive up. Maps of the jeep trails can be found at the board of tourism and the jeep shops in town. There are great trails for a casual drive through the red rock canyons or intense slick rock jeep obstacles for those that want to test their jeep’s ability.

The Slick Rock Lodge is a Moab adventure lodge for groups of any size. Groups less than 20 people will find the 5-bedroom lodge perfect for their Moab adventure vacation. Groups from 20 – 40 people will have a perfect vacation in the 10-bedroom lodge. Large groups over 40 people can rent both lodges and have enough room for everyone in their group.
