Fall in Moab is a gorgeous time of year. The daytime temperatures are typically 70 to 80 degrees, and the nighttime temperatures drop to the 40s and 50s. The daytime is just about perfect weather for hiking, mountain biking, jeeping, and exploring the national parks.  The night is perfect weather for sitting in the hot tub, relaxing by the fire, or enjoying the evening out of the deck gazing at the stars. The weather is perfect for a Moab fall vacation.

The fall colors around Moab and the La Sal Mountains are amazing. The red rock formations with fall colors and sunsets make for amazing color combinations and opportunities to get unique and spectacular pictures of some of the iconic arches and canyons in the Moab area. The La Sal Mountains just south of the Moab are full of trails and dirt roads to explore during the fall.  The fall colors in the La Sal Mountains are amazing and is one of the best areas in Utah to enjoy a fall vacation. It is a great spot to take a ride with your family in your jeep or ATV.

In addition to the amazing fall weather and the beautiful fall colors the crowds are much smaller in the fall. During the summer vacation months Moab can be quite crowded and lines to get into Arches and Canyonlands can be long. In the fall months lines are much shorter and hikes in these gorgeous national parks are much less crowded. Downtown Moab is also much quieter and laid back. This is a great time of year for a Moab fall vacation if you enjoy a quieter atmosphere.

Slick Rock Lodge is just a couple miles south of Moab and is the perfect location to access Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, the La Sal Mountains, and the mountain biking and ATV trails around Moab. We hope to see you this fall at Slick Rock Lodge for some spectacular fall weather and amazing colors!
