Summer in Moab can be warm, but the Slick Rock Lodge has a beautiful pool to cool down on those warm summer days. Adults and children both enjoy the great pool at Slick Rock Lodge on warm summer afternoons. There are many great activities to do in the morning and evening when the temperatures are milder, but the pool is a great place for groups to relax and soak in the heat of the summer afternoon. Here are a few of our favorite summer activities to enjoy in the mornings and evenings before or after a relaxing swim in the Slick Rock Lodge pool.

Many mornings in the summer mountain biking or hiking are favorite activities of ours. There are many mountain biking trails all around Moab. Some of our favorite trails are White Rim Trail, Slickrock Trail, The Whole Enchilada, Porcupine Rim, and Navajo Rocks Loop. If you don’t have a mountain bike there are several bike shops in Moab to rent a good mountain bike and they can also give you some good recommendations on trails based on your experience level. There are also many hiking trails both north and south of Moab. Mill Creek North Fork Trail, Grand Staff Canyon Trail, and Hidden Valley Trail are a few of our favorite hiking trails that are not terribly busy.

Mornings and evenings are also great for visiting the national parks in the area. Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park are both close to Moab and are much less crowded in the morning and evening. These two national parks are spectacular scenery, and the beautiful sunrise and sunset are both spectacular to witness at either of the gorgeous national parks.

The Colorado River runs just north of the town of Moab. There are several companies in town that do day rafting trips on the Colorado River. It is a great way to cool down in the heat of the summer and a nice way to see some beautiful red rock scenery in the Colorado River Canyon.

We hope to see you this summer at Slick Rock Lodge in Moab!
