Arches National Park is an amazing place to hike and explore any time of the year, but the early spring is one of the best times of the year to spend time at Arches. In March and April the crowds are much smaller, the weather is mild, and there is always the chance of a snowstorm to create some magnificent views and pictures with the red rock arches and the white snow.
Canyonlands National Park is also one of the most iconic national parks in the United States and the early spring is a great time to visit it for many of the same reasons. During the early spring you will find much smaller crowds and the mild weather is not nearly as hot as the summer months. During the summer months intense heat can be common and hikers must take precautions to not get into trouble with the intense heat. During March and April snow is fairly common and can create some of the most spectacular views and pictures of the red rock canyons found within Canyonlands National Park.

The mild weather and lower crowds make it a great time to come with your family and friends and ride some of the endless mountain biking trails around the Moab area.
Jeep and side by side riding is a popular activity in the spring around Moab. There are countless jeep trails in Moab that wind through the red rock canyons and over the slick rock sandstone formations. This is a great way to explore the desert around Moab and see many of the iconic formations. March and April are great months to bring your jeeps or side by side and explore the back roads around Moab and see all that this amazing area has to offer.
